Your route is your business

Privacy, in plain words.

Your mileage journal is stored on your iPhone. DriveMileGo does not operate a backend that collects your trip records.

The essentials

No DriveMileGo account is required. The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or tracking SDK. We do not sell your drive log or upload it to a DriveMileGo server. Some features use Apple services, and your own backups and exports can move data off the device.

1. Information kept in your journal

DriveMileGo stores the information needed to organize your mileage locally in its app storage, including:

  • Drive records: start and end times, place names, distance, business or personal classification, review status, purpose, notes, parking, and tolls.
  • Recorded routes: latitude, longitude, timestamps, location accuracy, and speed for GPS points used in a drive. Capture and recovery files can temporarily hold points for an active or interrupted drive.
  • Your setup: businesses, vehicles, saved places and their coordinates, route suggestions, purpose presets, work-hour preferences, a mileage rate, and capture settings.
  • Odometer records: saved vehicle readings, dates, and notes you enter for comparisons with your journal.

These records are used on your device to record and classify drives, display routes, check the journal, calculate summaries, and create the reports or backups you request.

2. Location and motion permissions

GPS recording uses iPhone Location Services. Automatic capture is an optional Plus feature and requires you to enable it. For background automatic capture, allow Always location access and turn on Precise Location. A manually started GPS recording also needs location permission. Entering a past drive by hand does not need GPS access.

When capture is running, the app may use Core Motion’s automotive activity signal to help distinguish driving from other movement. That signal is processed on device; DriveMileGo does not store a raw motion-history log or send motion activity to a developer server.

You can pause automatic capture in the app’s Garage and change Location or Motion & Fitness permissions in iPhone Settings. If a manual recording is active, finish it separately. Removing permissions can limit recording. Apple explains its own handling in Location Services & Privacy.

3. Maps and purchases through Apple

Maps

Route maps use Apple MapKit. Loading a map makes normal map requests to Apple, which may process information needed to deliver its map service. This is separate from the local mileage journal. Apple’s services are governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Subscriptions

Apple processes Plus purchases, trial eligibility, payments, and renewals through StoreKit and the App Store. DriveMileGo reads and verifies Apple-provided transaction and subscription information on device to determine whether automatic capture is available. The app does not send these transactions to a DriveMileGo backend and does not receive your payment card details.

Restoring purchases contacts Apple. It restores eligible subscription access, not your locally saved mileage journal.

4. Backups and files you share

You can export CSV or PDF reports and a full JSON backup. These files may contain personal information, including trip locations, times, notes, business details, and—in a full backup—recorded route points. You choose the app, service, person, or storage location that receives an export through the iPhone share sheet.

Your iPhone’s operating-system backup settings may also include DriveMileGo’s app data in an iCloud or computer backup. DriveMileGo does not provide its own cloud account or automatic cloud sync. The storage service you choose has its own privacy and security practices.

Restoring a backup replaces the current journal and saves a copy of the previous data first. Keep backups somewhere you trust and manage those copies separately from the active journal.

5. Your control, storage, and deletion

Review, edit, export, or delete drives in the app. The journal remains on the device until you remove records, replace it with a restored backup, or delete the app’s data. App files use iOS file protection. No storage method can guarantee protection against every type of loss or unauthorized access, so use a device passcode and keep a backup.

Deleting a drive removes it from the active journal; it does not remove copies in earlier exports, device backups, or recovery copies. Deleting the app can remove its local records. Offloading an app may retain its data. Manage iCloud, computer, and exported backups separately if you want to remove those copies too.

We cannot recover a journal from a DriveMileGo server because no such copy is uploaded. Canceling Plus does not delete your records: manual entry, saved records, and exports remain available.

6. Information you choose to send support

If you email ven@venventures.com, we receive your email address and the message, attachments, and other details you choose to provide. We use that information to respond, investigate your request, and maintain the related support correspondence. Email is handled through email service providers.

Sending a backup or screenshot is optional. Remove private locations or unrelated personal details when they are not needed to explain a problem. You can contact the same address with questions or requests about support correspondence.

7. This website

This website serves static product, privacy, and support information. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising pixels, cookies, web forms, or third-party font requests. The hosting provider may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as an IP address, requested page, and browser information.

Following an Apple link or opening your email app takes you to a separate service with its own policies. This website does not read or receive your app’s mileage journal.

8. Updates and contact

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above identifies this version. A material change to how the app handles information will be reflected in the policy and, where appropriate, the app.
